Malmö, Sweden - CitySolar 120, CityPack 120 and Loop
Malmö makes recycling easier with CitySolar, CityPack and Loop. During the spring, the City of Malmö has installed Finbin's CitySolar 120, CityPack 120 and Loop solutions in several locations across the city. The new litter bins and sorting stations can now be found in around 30 locations.
Malmö is a constantly evolving city where people move through and spend time in parks, along waterfront routes, in squares and in lively urban streetscapes. Maintaining a clean and pleasant city environment requires waste management solutions that are durable, functional and easy to use. By combining smart technology with modern litter bins and sorting stations, residents and visitors have better opportunities to dispose of their waste and sort it correctly throughout the city.
The solar-powered CitySolar 120 bins use compaction technology to increase capacity and reduce the need for emptying. CityPack 120, in turn, offers the same consistent and modern design for locations where compaction is not needed. Together with Loop sorting stations, the products create a carefully considered and visually unified waste management solution for Malmö’s diverse urban environments.
The modern design of the products blends naturally into Malmö’s varied cityscape, from the contemporary architecture of Västra Hamnen to the historic quarters and busy pedestrian and shopping areas in the city centre. The solutions are designed to withstand Nordic weather conditions and intensive use, while supporting a cleaner, more pleasant and more welcoming urban environment.
The project demonstrates how different solutions within the same product family can be combined to create an efficient and cohesive waste management concept across the city.
