Sustainable Development is Our Value
We aim at sustainable resource use and energy efficiency in our operations. We say no to the consumption of disposables. We use metal as our primary raw material because it is the most widely recycled material in the world. We have developed a geothermal system to improve our energy efficiency. The system recovers the cooling energy from our production machines, which can be used for heating in the winter.

OUR HISTORY
1945
Where it all started
It started in 1945 in a small metal shop in Eastern Finland, when Armas Lehtovuori founded Lehtovuori Oy. The original idea was to manufacture modern, durable, easy-to-use and beautiful outdoor furniture that all people could use.
1990
International Growth
The Finbin® brand was created to support international export and bring Finnish-designed waste management and urban solutions to global markets. The iconic Finbin® City® litter bin — designed by Hannu Kähönen following a major design competition organized by the City of Helsinki — was launched, helping establish Finbin as an internationally recognized brand known for functional and user-friendly urban design.
2017
Setting a New Standard for Smart Waste Bins
In the early years of the 21st century, we realised that we could utilise new technology in order to both help our customers and significantly reduce the carbon dioxide emissions of waste management. The most efficient waste-compacting smart bin Finbin® CitySolar® was published. The model has since secured its place in the major Nordic cities.
2022
Investing in Modern Manufacturing
We invested in new production technology, an advanced powder coating line and the expansion of our Ylöjärvi factory. Today, we operate one of the industry’s most modern manufacturing facilities, meeting the highest international quality standards.
