Lehtovuori 80 vuotta - Lehtovuori

Finbin 80 years

This year, 2025, marks a remarkable 80 years since Lehtovuori was founded. Over the decades, we have been involved in creating sustainably, safely, and beautifully furnished environments for the needs of different generations. We will continue this work with pride and passion in the future.

In 1945, Armas Lehtovuori founded a metal and carpentry workshop named T:mi A. Lehtovuori. His basic idea was to produce durable and functional products for the various needs of post-war Finnish homes.

Armas Lehtovuori was a strong entrepreneurial personality. He laid the foundation for Lehtovuori's long-standing customer relationships and strong products. Many of our early products are familiar to different generations and some are still in production, such as the Klassikko bench.

The Klassikko bench has been in Lehtovuori's production almost unchanged for decades. The classic and durable bench model is suitable for any location, but it is particularly stylish in the courtyard of an apartment building built in the 1950s-60s, toned to match the building's facade.

Initially, Lehtovuori manufactured small accessories for household use. Later, they moved on to outdoor furniture for detached houses and then to furnishing the yards of housing companies. The need for bicycle racks, shelters, airing racks, tables, and benches grew with the construction of suburbs. Various climbing frames, carousels, and slides began to be manufactured for increasingly common playgrounds. Preservative-treated wood and metal were used as materials. A strong foundation for Lehtovuori's product range was established in the 1970s. In the following decades, product models were continuously developed to suit the spirit of the times and practical needs.

Lehtovuori is still a family business, today led by the Ojanen family. Over the past ten years, the product range has also expanded to include compacting, solar-powered smart waste bins, which bring cost-effectiveness to waste management and significantly reduce the carbon footprint. Technology is here to stay in urban furniture, and Lehtovuori's products are increasingly in demand both domestically and abroad.

Significant investments were made in the factory located in Ylöjärvi in the 2020s, which will enable the continued production of modern and high-quality urban furniture. The advertising slogan "Strength is an asset," created in the 1950s, can therefore still be endorsed.
