CitySolar and CityPack 240 - Halmstad, Sweden
Halmstad, a municipality with about 60,000 inhabitants on Sweden's west coast, has invested in smart and sustainable waste management by implementing CitySolar and CityPack 240 smart waste bins. In recent years, over 130 solutions have been delivered to the municipality, which are both pest-protected and connected to the Finbin Connect cloud service, enabling modern and data-driven waste management.
CitySolar and CityPack 240 waste bins enhance waste management through compaction technology and smart monitoring, which reduces emptying frequency and optimizes service routes. Finbin Connect provides real-time information on the bins' fill levels and usage, enabling more efficient planning and resource allocation.
Halmstad has been a satisfied user of Finbin Connect for two years, ever since the platform's early testing phases. Yvonne Bothén, a representative of the municipality, describes the service's impact as follows:
"Halmstad has greatly benefited from Finbin Connect through improved overview and control of its waste management. With the help of real-time data, the municipality has been able to optimize emptying routines, which has led to fewer unnecessary collections, reduced transport costs and lower carbon emissions. The app’s analysis functions have provided valuable insights into usage and fill levels, which have contributed to better planning and resource allocation. Overall, the platform has helped develop a more efficient, sustainable, and data-driven way of working in Halmstad."
