A project was carried out in the yard of Ikuri daycare center and school in Tampere, where ViVa bike shelters and frame-locking CubiQ racks were installed. The purpose of this project was to promote cycling among children and staff and to provide a safe and protected place for storing bicycles.
CubiQ racks allow bicycles to be secured by their frames, significantly improving security against theft. The shelters, in turn, offer weather protection from rain, snow, and sunlight, for example, which extends the lifespan of the bicycles.
The project is part of the city's broader goal to promote sustainable mobility and cycling. The aim is to support children's active lifestyle and independent mobility on their way to daycare and school. Adding bike shelters and frame-locking racks to the daycare center's yard makes cycling more attractive and safer.
