Green Roofs of Kannisto School, Vantaa
ViVA shelters with green roofs and functional bicycle parking solutions as part of a renovated schoolyard
The schoolyard of Kannisto School in Vantaa's Kannisto district was renovated as part of a large school expansion and development project. The goal of the renovation was to create a pleasant, functional, and sustainable yard area for the growing comprehensive school – an environment that serves everyday use and encourages sustainable mobility choices.

Lehtovuori Oy supplied ViVA shelters with green roofs and two-sided CubiQ Standard bicycle racks to the site, supporting the practicality and environmental values of the schoolyard.
ViVA shelters with green roofs offer sheltered and clean-lined canopy space, while the green roof brings greenery to the yard area and softens the appearance of the built environment. Green roofs promote stormwater management and support urban biodiversity – features that are particularly important in modern school environments.
Bicycle parking for students and staff was solved with CubiQ Standard bicycle racks, which allow for a large number of bicycle spaces in a compact area. The two-sided implementation makes parking clear and smooth, and supports the school's daily life, where cycling is a significant mode of transport.
Kannisto School's yard is an example of how functionality, sustainable design, and high-quality yard solutions can be combined into a successful whole. Lehtovuori's products are a natural part of this environment – supporting everyday use and a sustainable future.
