Nantes' Recycling Solutions – Thousands of EkoCity Bins Delivered to France

Our collaboration with our French partner COLLECTAL has reached a significant milestone: thousands of Finbin EkoCity recycling bins have now been delivered to France, with 4,600 units already installed in the Nantes region alone.

Since 2022, COLLECTAL has delivered more than 6,000 EkoCity bins across France — and the number continues to grow as the project progresses.

Sustainable and User-Friendly Solutions for Urban Environments

EkoCity recycling bins are specifically designed for public spaces and urban environments, combining:

  • Excellent durability in demanding conditions
  • Clear and intuitive design
  • A user-friendly recycling experience in everyday use

The solutions make waste sorting easier while supporting cities in achieving their recycling and sustainability goals.

Bio-Waste Collection Supporting New Regulations

New legislation introduced in France at the beginning of 2024 requires separate bio-waste collection from all operators, increasing the need for new recycling solutions in public spaces.

In Nantes, EkoCity bins have been widely implemented for bio-waste collection as part of this transition. The solution supports the city’s goals of improving recycling rates and reducing the amount of organic waste ending up in mixed waste streams.

At the same time, EkoCity provides a flexible and scalable solution: in addition to bio-waste, the bins are suitable for collecting other waste fractions such as packaging waste and mixed waste. This enables a unified recycling solution adaptable to different urban environments and evolving needs.

Nantes – An Example of a Successful Large-Scale Project

The project implemented in Nantes and the Nantes Métropole area is an excellent example of successful large-scale collaboration. Delivering the project has required strong coordination between production, logistics, and installation to ensure efficient and high-quality execution at every stage.

Close cooperation with local authorities has also played a key role. Continuous dialogue has enabled:

  • Rapid response to changing needs
  • Flexible management of project schedules
  • Ongoing solution development based on user feedback

Collaboration and Continuous Development as Key Success Factors

The project demonstrates the importance of combining:

  • Strong partnerships
  • Operational efficiency
  • The ability to continuously improve products based on real-world use and feedback

EkoCity recycling bins have been adapted to meet the actual needs of communities, improving the user experience and increasing the effectiveness of the solutions.

The Journey Continues

Deliveries to France are ongoing, and the Nantes project continues to expand. The goal for the coming years is to further increase delivery volumes — with the next major milestone already within sight.

We are proud to contribute to building smarter and more sustainable urban environments together with our partners.
