Meet the team: Production developers Matti and Marian
At the heart of Finbin's production beat our two engineers, Matti Ahola and Marian Cojoc. This fourth part of the meet the team series introduces their daily work and how they collaboratively develop the company's production.
Matti Ahola is Finbin's new Development Manager, whose job description is diverse and varied. "There is no normal day," he says. His work focuses on project-based production and product development, as well as the technical super-user administration of ERP systems. He provides support to all departments and is responsible for ERP structures. On the development side, Matti decides on reorder points, control methods, and batch sizes, which are carried out in cooperation with Marian.
Marian Cojoc is Finbin's Mechanical Designer, responsible for programming laser cutting and bending machines. He ensures that designers' CAD models can be practically produced, making necessary corrections and fine-tunings. Marian acts as a link between designers and production, ensuring that the production process runs smoothly.
Marian's work requires quick reactions and the management of various exceptions and rules. He continuously collects feedback from production and assembly, making changes before products go back to design. Marian's most important tool is the TruTops Boost software, where he serves as the company's super-user. Marian also designs internal tools and fixtures that improve production flow and safety.

Backgrounds and Career Paths
Matti has worked at Finbin for over two years and is simultaneously studying to become a Master of Science in Engineering. He started as a production planner but has gradually moved more into the IT side due to his own interests. Matti emphasizes the importance of cooperation between different departments. The biggest challenge in his work is managing the quality and flow of information. The right information at the right time and place is crucial for smooth production. This aspect of the job is often underestimated, even though it is a critical part of optimizing production flow.
Marian joined Finbin in February of last year, having previously worked as a trainee designer at Vexve. Marian has a background in mechanical engineering and will begin his master's studies in engineering at LUT University in the autumn. An interesting fact about Marian is that he has completely changed fields, as he previously worked as a nurse. He found that engineering suited him better, as it requires a different way of thinking and allows for creativity in his work. This change has been rewarding for him.
In his free time, Matti keeps himself busy with his studies and house-building projects, which he describes as a hobby.
Positive Work Community and Future Prospects
Both Matti and Marian emphasize Finbin's positive work community, where people support each other and share expertise. "A good sense of humor makes it always pleasant to come to work," Matti says. Marian, who is the first to arrive at the office to make coffee and start his day peacefully, agrees. Marian's job is unique, and he is the only person who fully manages it. This requires an understanding of each department and their needs. In the midst of rush, the quality of the end result can suffer, which is why optimizing processes and improving information flow are continuous development areas.
Finbin offers opportunities to shape job descriptions and influence them according to one's own skills. This is particularly motivating for Marian and Matti, who have been able to create new roles for themselves and see the concrete results of their work. "You can bring your own ideas forward, and the flat hierarchy allows for their quick implementation," Marian says.
Finbin's future looks bright as Matti and Marian continue their development work, optimizing processes and promoting the company's growth.
